Forget NotePad, erase, crush by EditPad the publisher(editor) of text par excellence.
The following manip has no inconvenience and it brings numerous advantages

To erase NotePad.exe which(who) is in c:\windows (or in C:\winnt and in C:\winnt\system32)
You can reappoint him(it) if you like it
To reappoint EditPad.exe there NotePad.exe and to copy in C:\windows

Voila maintaining all the files .TXT will be opened by EditPad

In IE function(office) " to post(show) the file source " will be now made with EditPad
What is very practical during déboggages because it possesses a numbering of lines and columns
